Highlights
Heavy weather tripped a stock-up effect for groceries, giving ICSC-Goldman's index a 1.4 percent boost in the Feb. 6 week. The year-on-year rate, at plus 1.8 percent vs. the prior week's plus 0.4 percent rate, was given a boost by a calendar shift for the Super Bowl. Redbook is up at 8:55 ET.

Definition
This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.  Why Investors Care
